House Heroes: The Power of Positivity

Committed to raising much needed funds for kids with cancer, Phoebe Hewitt is determined to give back to the community that supported her, as seen on House of Wellness TV.

At 14, Phoebe Hewitt was a normal teenager, she had loads of friends and absolutely loved ballet.

But instead of flourishing in her dancing career, Phoebe spent this crucial time of her life dealing with a rare and dangerous cancer.

After a gruelling year of chemotherapy, surgery and rehabilitation, Phoebe beat the cancer.

“In my opinion nothing is inherently good nor bad, but of course, cancer isn’t the ideal way to change yourself as a person,” she says.

“Cancer is so unbelievably painful in every sense of the word, but at the same time, it brought my family and I closer together and it gave me a new appreciation for life and how lucky I am.”

This March, Phoebe will be walking 10km in the Bob ‘Tug’ Wilson’s Walk for Kids with Cancer, raising much needed funds for The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

“I’ll be walking 10kms and I’m very excited,” Phoebe says. “It’s what I’m all about, helping people in anyway I can, and doing something for the common good and not being selfish.”
