Delta Goodrem’s style evolution

Delta Goodrem has been a household name for nearly two decades, but one thing that’s changed over the years is her sense of style and approach to beauty.

We take a look at the Australian singer, songwriter, actor and TV judge’s most iconic looks so far.

Delta 2003

June 2003 – Channel V Studios

At just 18, this was one of Delta’s first live performances as part of promotions for her chart-topping, largely self-penned debut album, Innocent Eyes.

Delta kept her look simple, with a slicked back pony and minimal make-up.

This is also the first and last time we see her with dreaded tadpole brows.

Delta 2004

August 2004 – ARIA No.1 Chart Awards

After battling Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a triumphant Delta accepted multiple ARIA gongs for Innocent Eyes.

Her crochet, belted tunic styled over flared jeans and pointed kitten heels was a certified look, with Delta simultaneously rocking just about every major fashion trend of the early 2000s.

Delta 2005

January 2005 – G’Day LA

Amid shoulder rubbing with A-listers including Mel Gibson and Olivia Newton John (who she would go on to depict years later), Delta had also made a major beauty discovery – blush.

Despite its overly zealous application, the shimmery pink hue gave Delta a healthy, youthful glow while complementing her baby pink gown.

Delta 2006

March 2006 – Commonwealth Games opening ceremony

Here we started to see Delta looking more glam.

Her hair was bouncy, blonde and bouffant, made all the more dazzling by her cut-out, bedazzled gown and fireworks display in the background.

All in all, the look suited her and helped cement her superstar status on home soil.

December 2007 – AFI Awards

Is that Delta Goodrem or Malibu Barbie?

At the Australian film industry’s night of nights, the singer sported a super light shade of blonde and had familiarised herself with fake tan.

It was a strong look, but beach bum style worked for her (and it helped her show off her dazzling new engagement ring from then-fiance Brian McFadden).

Delta 2008

September 2008 – Late Show with David Letterman

In a major career coup, Delta secured a performance spot on US talk show Late Show with David Letterman.

Her slightly darker, honey shade complemented her boho layered hairstyle.

Delta 2009

March 2009 – MTV Australia Awards

Delta presented with her then-fiancé, former Westlife performer Brian McFadden.

By now she had acquired a fringe, giving a 70s vibe that paired well with her dress.

Side note: did Brian invent the selfie?

Delta 2011

November 2011 – Avon Foundation for Women Global Voices for Change Awards Gala

Looking very Grecian meets classic Hollywood, Delta switched things up with a milkmaid braid and a red lip – highlighting that she’s not afraid to experiment.

Delta 2012

April 2012 – Madame Tussauds Sydney

Delta met her waxwork equivalent and the result was … well we’ll let you judge that one for yourself.

One of the few similarities shared by the pair were their glossy blonde locks, styled with soft, sweeping curls.

Delta 2015

July 2015 – The Voice Live Finals Show launch

Yet another makeover for Australia’s pop princess. This time her mane had the balayage treatment, as well as an overgrown fringe.

Noticeably plumper lips accompany her sleek look.

Delta 2018

May 2018: Nine All Stars Event

In one of her most dramatic beauty look transformations to date, Delta turned to the dark side – hair wise, we mean – going a dark brunette shade with caramel highlights through the midsections.

It made for a refreshing change.

Delta Goodrem has released her second fragrance, Dream, available exclusively at Chemist Warehouse. To find out more about her latest scent – and why she’s not taking her success for granted – pick up a copy of The House of Wellness spring magazine.
