The best (and easiest) workout you can do in your living room

The dipping temperature outdoors is no excuse to skip your workout. In fact, you can get it done while sitting in front of the TV, says The Fit Pharmacist Holly Louise.

Circuit burst

Perform three sets of each exercise for a full-body workout.

Alternatively, try performing each exercise one after another as a circuit, aiming to complete three rounds with one minute’s rest at the end of each round.

Vee sit hold x 30 seconds

(Pictured above)

Sit on the edge of your chair and lean back slightly. Raise your legs out in front of you and hold that position for 30 seconds, ensuring your abdominal muscles are engaged (you can bend your knees instead to make it easier).

Dips x 12 reps

The Fit Pharmacist: Tricep Dips

Place your palms on the edge of the couch and move your bottom off the edge.

Bend your elbows and lower your body, then straighten your arms to return to the starting position.

Push Up x 12 reps

The Fit Pharmacist: Push Ups

Place your hands on the couch and lift yourself into a push-up position (you can also use a kneeling position).

Lower yourself until your chest almost touches the couch, then push yourself back up into the starting position.

Bulgarian Split Squats x 12 reps each leg

The Fit Pharmacist: Split Squats

Take a couple of steps forward from the couch and place your rear foot on it.

Lower yourself until your knee almost touches the ground, then return to the starting position. Complete all reps on one leg before switching to the other.

Squats x 12 reps

The Fit Pharmacist: Squats

Stand in front of your couch and position your feet shoulder-width apart. Holding your arms out in front of you, sit down on the couch and then return to the starting position.
