Oscars 2018: Hottest red carpet hair and beauty looks

Celebrities including Best Actress nominee Margot Robbie brought a touch of Old Hollywood glamour to the 90th Academy Awards red carpet. Here are the hottest looks from this year’s Oscars.

Celebrities brought a touch of Old Hollywood glamour to the 90th Academy Awards, with a number of classic beauty trends embraced on the red carpet.

These were the top hair and beauty looks at the 2018 Oscars.

Deep part with soft waves

This universally flattering, polished ’do was a popular hairstyle, with Margot Robbie, Allison Williams and Elisabeth Moss among celebrities sporting the look.

It might look complicated, but the style is surprisingly easy to recreate.

Simple and sleek

With many extravagant, colourful gowns on the red carpet, many celebrities opted for understated, simple and sleek hairstyles. Saoirse Ronan, Nicole Kidman and Emma Stone are just some of the stars who followed the trend.

Top bun

Another red carpet staple this year, the top bun is not only a fool-proof up-do but also gives a (temporary) pseudo facelift – music to the ears of many celebs.

Multi-hyphenate talent Zendeya wore the look with ease, as did E! presenter Maria Menounos.

All over bronze

Red carpet makeup was fairly conservative, with muted, neutral-toned makeup the dominant look.

Aside from a few bold lips, the other noticeable trend was bronzed makeup. Celebrity makeup artist Hugh Van Go took a dramatic approach to the trend for Jennifer Lawrence, giving the Red Sparrow star a bronzed smokey cat-eye.

Singer Andra Day sported a similar at the talented hands of makeup artist Porsche Cooper.
